With our Short Path Distillation Unit, you can expect consistent and reliable results for your distillation needs. Whether you’re in the pharmaceutical, chemical, or food industry, our equipment is versatile enough to handle a wide range of applications

  • Operating principle of short path distillation unit (SPDU) is similar to thin film evaporator except internal condenser. Here internal condenser is installed inside rotor cage assembly.
  • The feed enters the unit at top and get distributed into a thin film on the inside surface of shell. Heating medium passing through the jacket evaporates volatile component in feed. The vapor generated flow across the rotor and condense on internal condenser.
  • This short path of vapor eliminate pressure drop. Hence evaporation can be done at high vacuum as 0.001 mbar(a).
  • The distilled product and balance bottoms are taken out through separate outlets.
  • Efficient and precise design: Our distillation unit is designed to be efficient and precise, ensuring maximum performance and accuracy
  • State-of-the-art equipment: The distillation unit is state-of-the-art, featuring advanced technology and design options for optimal distillation techniques.
  • Easy to use and maintain: The unit is easy to use and maintain, with hassle-free operation and simple maintenance procedures.
  • Durable and long-lasting: Our Short Path Distillation Unit is built to last, with durable materials and components that ensure reliable use over time.
  • Operating pressure as low as 0.001 mbar(a). Hence product can be distilled at lower temperature to avoid degradation.
  • With high vacuum and high heating temperature, very high boiling components can be distilled easily.
  • Residence time of few seconds.
  • Single pass evaporation.
  • Good turn down capability.
  • Low product hold up.
  • Use of metal blades at high temperature gives more flexibility than conventional roller design.

Frequently Asked Questions

Distillation units are used in a variety of applications, including the production of chemicals, fuels, and other products, as well as the purification of water and other liquids.

A distillation unit is a device that is used to separate and purify liquids through the process of distillation. It works by heating a mixture of liquids to a temperature at which one or more of the liquids will vaporize. The vapor is then cooled and condensed back into a liquid, which is collected for further use.

Yes, distillation units can be used for the production of chemicals by separating and purifying the various components of a feedstock through the process of distillation. This can be used to produce a wide variety of chemicals, including acids, bases, solvents, and other products.

Some common applications of distillation units include:
  • The production of chemicals, such as acids, bases, and solvents
  • The production of fuels, such as gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel
  • The purification of water and other liquids, such as alcohol, essential oils, and seawater
  • The recovery and reuse of solvents and other materials

Proper maintenance of a distillation unit is important to ensure that it is operating efficiently. This may include cleaning the distillation unit, checking and replacing worn parts, and ensuring that the distillation unit is properly calibrated. It may also involve monitoring and adjusting the operating parameters of the distillation unit to optimize its performance.
